About the area:
A couple of hundred yards from your front door, you will find the centre of the beautiful market town of Tetbury. Situated in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Tetbury of today is one of the most beautiful Cotswold towns, with its elegant buildings creating a real sense of timeless beauty and is a thriving market town built around its outstanding seventeenth-century Market Hall.
As well as offering a great selection of pubs, shops and restaurants, it also offers a unique retail experience with many individually owned shops, including the Highgrove souvenir shop – Tetbury is the home of Price Charles, and it is also a major centre for antiques.
Tetbury celebrates some of the best and most famous local produce in the county, including exquisite foods from The Duchy, delicious locally baked breads and the freshest ingredients from the local markets and specialist shops. Whether it’s a little something for a loved one, an extravagant antique for your home, or a new outfit for that special occasion, Tetbury has it all!
Within a short walking distance are its many antique and speciality shops, including the “High Grove” shop. The market town also has a wide choice of tea shops, Bistros, Cafes, Pubs and Restaurants serving delicious local produce. You could easily spend a day without having to use a car.
Close by is the Elizabethan Chavenage house, Westonbirt Arboretum, with its 300 specimen trees set over 600 acres, particularly worthy of a visit in the autumn with all the changing colours. For the more active amongst us, the Cotswold Water Park is only a short drive away, where you can enjoy a wide range of water sports as well as walking and cycle paths, fishing and bird-watching opportunities.
Set in an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds, with Malmesbury, Bath, Gatcombe Park, Cirencester and Chippenham all within easy driving distance and a range of attractions waiting to be explored!
Fans of the outdoors will not be disappointed with a range of activities such as walking, hiking, cycling, golf, and riding to participate in one of the most beautiful, historic parts of England!
